How to Bend an Offset in Conduit. An offset is a bending technique that turns a straight conduit into a Z-shape, which allows it to avoid obstacles and change elevation. Calculate and mark where the conduit will be bent. Line up the bender’s arrow (B) with the first mark and with the tube on the ground, make a 45° bend. Milwaukee Tool 48-22-4081 Milwaukee EMT Conduit Benders | Summit Racing Hand Benders. Every electrician should have their own set of hand benders, to include at a minimum a bender for ½” EMT, one for ¾” EMT (the ¾” will also bend ½” rigid pipe).
